Nikki has had a lifelong loves shopping second-hand and she thought she would open an online shop that would one day evolve into a brick and mortar second-hand boutique. Nikki started selling at Barley Wheat Vintage a little over a year ago.  After spending time with the business and getting to know her customer, she learned that the business is really more about vintage personal styling and women’s empowerment. Now Nikki puts all her skills to work -- she is a photographer, stylist, and offers in-home gatherings to shop curated vintage racks.  What began as a whisper of an idea has grown into an inclusive space for women to thrive, inspire and grow. Together with a new business partner, today their mission is to bring sustainable, vintage fashion to the modern woman and to break down standard societal barriers in everyday fashion. Nikki is a mom of four with a heart of gold. I loved talking with her about her plans for the business, about listening to your customers, knowing when to pivot, and connecting with local connections. She also has lovely things to say about empowerment, personal style and confidence.  I can’t wait for you to hear -- let’s dive right in.
