On today's episode of Locked on Wild, friend of the show Wyatt Garin joins as we discuss some of BetOnline AG's NHL odds for the 2021-22 season. We start by looking at the Wild's odds to win the Western Conference, and agree that it's weird that the Wild have just slightly better odds than the Kraken to win. They both also agree that it should come down to Vegas and Colorado. As far as division odds go, Wyatt likes that the Wild have the second best odds, and Seth agrees that there is a lot that could go right or wrong with the rest of the Central Division. As far as Stanley Cup odds, both agree that the Wild have pretty good odds while being in the top half of teams this year.
We move to player projections and Seth and Wyatt both predict big things for Kirill Kaprizov. They both take the over on his goals for 2021-22, which according to Yahoo Fantasy is set at 38. With Kevin Fiala, both Seth and Wyatt say his over/under of 29 feels just about right. Wyatt predicts a big season for Joel Eriksson Ek, with 28 goals and Seth says he certainly could hit that if he's the top center on this team. We look at an interesting low number for combined goals for Matt Boldy and Marco Rossi, while suggesting it should be fairly easy for them if they both make the roster to eclipse 5 combined goals. Seth predicts a big season for Nico Sturm, and takes the over on his 13 projected goals. And Wyatt takes the under on 30 wins for Cam Talbot, because of a more even split in starts between him and Kaapo Kahkonen.
