The Trump administration has carried out the most federal executions for 130 years. After a 17-year hiatus, the president had them resumed in July 2020. Since then, the US government has applied the death penalty to 10 people. On Tuesday 12 January, the only woman on federal death row, Lisa Montgomery, is scheduled to be killed by lethal injection. If this goes ahead, she will be the first woman to be put to death by the federal government in 70 years. Gordon, a former senior policy adviser to Donald Trump.
