Ertunga has a long and storied history in the sport, but he has recently taken a big step by becoming the coach of two Turkish women - Ipek Oz and Ayla Aksu - after operating as a coaching consultant and member of the tennis media in recent years.

Listen on and hear why Mertunga is diving head first into this new challenge, what inspired him to make the move and find out how he has hooked up with two promising talents.

Listeners will great insight into what life is like on the ITF circuit, far away from the spotlight of the tour’s biggest venues, where Oz and Aksu battle for precious ranking points in the hopes that they can follow in the path of Turkish tennis trailblazer Cagla Buyukakcay, the only Turkish woman who has ever cracked the WTA’s top 100. 

It just so happens that Buyukakcay is a close friend and confidant of Ertunga. She was coached by the recently departed Can Uner, and we get to hear Ertunga speak on the admirable qualities of both as he describes his path back to the grind of the WTA Tour in depth.
