Kenan Jr. Distinguished Professor of Genetics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and served as the President of the American Association of Immunologists from 2020-2021. Her lab discovered the NLR protein family, and their recent research interests include oxidative phosphorylation in HIV, the role of AIM2 in autoimmunity, and microbes that can protect from radiation.
