Description

We had a wonderful opportunity to chat with 16 year old phenom Vera Rivard, just days after her successful circumnavigation of Manhattan. Vera has already completed the 25 mile In Search of Memphre in 2018 and is crossing her fingers that she can make good on her English Channel window in August despite the pandemic of 2020. Vera describes a very similar experience to my own, as to how she found out about marathon swimming, just a few years ago and has been building distance ever since. In her own words: Vera Rivard is 16 years old. Swims include: All Kingdom Swim distances, 25 mile In Search of Memphre, Cork Distance Week 2019 swimmer, 3 time Winter Swim participant (all events) on Lake Memphremagog, a double Lake Willoughby crossing, a double Lac Massawippi crossing and new this week she completed 20 Bridges NYOW.If you'd like to be a guest on Marathon Swim Stories, mailto:shannon@intrepidwater.comStay in touch by joining our email list at http://intrepidwater.comJoin a supportive group of limit pushers at The Marathon Swimming Collective Music credit:Epic Inspiration  by Rafael KruxLink: https://filmmusic.io/song/5447-epic-inspiration-License: http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ Swimming sounds courtesy of swimmer Todd Lantry.
