Francisco Lindor's first year with the New York Mets left a lot to be desired, as he posted the worst offensive season of his career. Still, there is plenty of reason for optimism with Lindor entering his second season in Queens.
Host Ryan Finkelstein compares Lindor's struggles to Carlos Beltran's woes with the Mets back in 2005, when he posted his worst offensive season in his first year of a big contract. Beltran would go on to have one of the best seasons in franchise history the following year, leading the Mets to an NL East division title.
Now that Lindor is settled in New York and coming off a strong second half offensively, there is no reason why we can't see the talented shortstop post a career year in 2022.
