On the latest episode of the Silver Screen and Roll podcast, Anthony and Harrison discussed the latest rumors connecting the Lakers to Derrick Rose, where they think such reporting is coming from, and what the Pistons might want for him in a possible trade. They also discussed if we think Rose fits at all with this team and if a deal like this makes sense for the Lakers, which might be two entirely different questions.
After that, Anthony and Harrison kicked off the audio version of our season in review series with a player who is in some ways tangentially related to those rumors: Talen Horton-Tucker, the only rookie on the Lakers’ full-time roster during their run to the title, and their only draft pick from the 2019 NBA Draft. If Horton-Tucker is capable of continuing to develop, he doesn’t make the acquisition of one-dimensional scorer like Rose completely pointless, but he does theoretically make it less necessary to give up assets to do so.
