That was just about everything I wanted out of an All-Star Weekend. Every event had a storyline. The NBA trimmed some of the fat (R.I.P Shooting Stars Challenge). And nearly every event, save for the actual All-Star game was packed with drama. In 2017 it will be Charlotte's turn to host the NBA's elite and all the celebrity that comes with it. Reports out of Toronto suggest the city planned well and, despite the freezing cold temperatures, did things right. We'll talk to someone who was knee deep in the 2016 All-Star coverage, Blake Murphy, freelance writer and Managing Editor of Raptors Republic about the experience and what Charlotte should prepare for in 2017.
