Description

The constant churn of the tennis world can overwhelm even the most dedicated of tennis fans. With so many matches occurring at the Juniors, College, Futures, Challengers, and ATP/WTA levels every day, keeping track of the sport’s biggest storylines becomes a near impossible task. It’s easy to focus on one Grand Slam, but juggling 10 tournaments at once?!?! That’s a little bit more challenging.

To help combat this problem, our team at Cracked Racquets is proud to introduce our newest Daily Podcast, "The Mini-Break". The Mini-Break will be a 15-25 minute, Monday-Friday show breaking down the biggest storylines, rumors, tennis twitter debates, and most fascinating results from each day in the tennis world. Breakthrough performances, third-set tiebreakers, tournament withdrawals, spicy Instagram posts, and ITF Transition Tour shade are just some of the many topics this podcast will discuss.

Rather than have one set team, this show will also see our many Cracked Racquets personalities rotating as episode hosts. We believe this format will allow us to best share the wide variety of perspectives our team has on the game. We also hope that listeners of this show will share the topics they would like to hear discussed, and we hope to incorporate as much fan participation as possible.

To kickoff the show, Great Shot Podcast hosts Alex Gruskin and Max Rothman hop on to explain the thinking that went into creating this new podcast, and discuss what listeners should expect from the first few weeks of shows.

They then talk about some the craziness that was last week on tour. They analyze Nick Kyrgios’s breathtaking week in Acapulco, praisie Federer’s run to title #100, and debate whether an ATP generational shift is occurring right before our eyes. They end by naming their biggest Winners and Losers in tennis from the week of February 25th.
