Over the last 2 years we have experienced our nation’s increased interest in the history of Juneteenth and the events that took place. Juneteenth is representative of June 19th, the day when federal troops arrived in Galveston, Texas in 1865 to take control of the state and ensure that all African American enslaved people were freed.
