Description

The Department of Justice digs deeper into the 2020 fake electors scheme, with sources telling CNN the subpoenaed Republicans that are connected to it need to turn over documents as soon as tomorrow. That, as former DOJ official and Trump loyalist Jeffrey Clark's house is raided in the early morning, in what is believed to be part of a broader investigation into the effort to overturn the 2020 election.

With the January 6 Committee just hours away from interviewing arguably its most awaited witness, Trump’s White House Counsel Pat Cipollone, the next public hearing is expected to focus on the role of extremist groups in the insurrection. Committee Chairman Bennie Thompson says witnesses have described conversations between extremists and Trump’s orbit. Max Boot is a senior fellow on the Council on Foreign Relations. He joins to discuss the impact he thinks the January 6 hearings will have on the GOP. Plus, the Hong Kong Times reports former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has been rushed to hospital after a possible shooting.
