Description

The Florida citrus industry in danger because of a disease that affects tree roots and prevents raw green fruit from ripening. The disease is called huang long bing, which means yellow dragon sickness. The problem is so bad that 90% of the state’s groves are infected by the disease and the industry might only survive 10-15 more years. Darryl Fears, reporter for the Washington Post joins us for the most feared citrus disease in the world.

Next, the stories that emerged from the first round of public impeachment hearing varied dramatically depending on where you get your news. Check out conservative media and the hearing was a dud, check out other media and the story was about new details of a call between Trump and Gordon Sondland. Neal Rothschild, reporter at Axios, joins us for impeachment’s dueling echo chambers.

Finally, add one more to the list. Former Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick has declared that he is running for president. Jumping into the already crowded field of democratic candidates and missing several debates already, he will face an uphill battle to make his case for the nomination. Zach Montellaro, campaign reporter for Politico, joins us for more.
