Description

Welcome to a special presentation of THE ARCHIVE on the CINEMATIC SOUND RADIO PODCAST NETWORK. Today you will hear music from Spy Films.

In celebration of the long-awaited release of the latest James Bond film, NO TIME TO DIE, your host Jason Drury plays music from film and TV shows which were inspired by the exploits of 007 or have a link to the secret agent himself.

After starting the show with the opening cue "The Ace Tomato Comedy" from the 1985 spy comedy SPIES LIKE US (Varese Sarabande) by Elmer Bernstein, Jason then presents a suite from the 1976 spy thriller THE EIGER SANCTION (Intrada Records) by John Williams.

From there you'll hear selections from an episode from the classic 1960s TV spy series THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E (FSM Records), and ALEXANDER THE GREATER AFFAIR with a score provided by Gerald Fried and main theme by Jerry Goldsmith.

Then Jason showcases selections from Jerry Goldsmith’s score to the 1966 spy spoof OUR MAN FLINT (Varese Sarabande Records) and the short-lived TV series from 1979-80 A MAN CALLED SLOANE (La La Land Records) with music by Patrick Williams.

The show concludes with a brace of cues from the 1990s submarine spy thriller THE HUNT FOR RED OCTOBER (Intrada Records) composed by Basil Poledouris.

Enjoy!
