A mistake a lot of creators make is they bring what they know about optimizing websites for Google and bring those same assumptions over to YouTube thinking that it will help their channels grow, too. While there are some similarities, most of how Google.com functions is very different from how YouTube.com functions. They have different goals and provide different opportunities for discovery.
