In May 1990, he was found dead, and later it came out that his wife, Pamela, conspired with her 15-year-old lover (gross) Billy and his friends to murder her husband. Pre-O.J., pre-Menendez brothers, Pamela Smart's trial was the first trial to be televised gavel to gavel. In other words, it was a big f*cking deal. The only twist?
