Description

Brooke Romney is a writer, speaker, and connector. She has been published in The Washington Post, The Deseret News, and a host of other online publications where her pieces have been read millions of times. Brooke comes from girly roots but has morphed into an outdoor exploring, dirt loving mom of 4 boys (ages 9-18) and couldn't be happier about it. She is married to a man who keeps her on her toes but loves unconditionally, even when she leaves all the cupboards open and lights on. In October 2020, she published her first book, I Like Me Anyway: Embracing Imperfection, Connection, and Christ, and in October of 2021, she published her second book, 52 Modern Manners for Today's Teens, which is what we're going to talk all about today! This Modern Manners for Teens guide has helped teenagers adopt fresh perspectives and doable strategies for living a more successful and connected life in a really simple way. Today we're covering tons of teen topics - everything from how to lovingly correct a teen, to how to teach social media etiquette, and some of the ways we can raise our kids to be kind, thoughtful, resilient, and confident.   Time Stamps: [01:20] - Brooke Romney shares the evolution of her idea to write a book focused on teens. [35:37] - Where are the moments you can teach your kids to self-advocate? [38:23] - It’s never too late.
