Fish brine is considered food and not a liquid and therefore can bbe squeezed on Shabbat. Was this said by Rav or Shmuel? If by Shmuel, it contradicts something he says elsewhere. If one cooked an item before Shabbat, one can soak it in hot water on Shabbat, but if not, one can only pour hot water on it on Shabbat. However, there are some salted fish that are prepared by pouring hot water on them and therefore one cannot do that on Shabbat.
