Immigrants’ Rights and Trump's Family Separation Policy with ACLU’s Lee Gelernt: In this episode, Jill and Victor talked with Lee Gelernt from the ACLU about the important work that he is doing as the deputy director of ACLU’s Immigrants’ Right Project and a documentary called “The Fight,” which highlights Lee’s first-hand experience fighting one of the most gut-wrenching and cruel policies of the Trump administration: separating children from their parents at the border in 2018. Lee Gelernt is widely recognized as one of the country’s leading public interest lawyers and has argued dozens of groundbreaking civil rights cases during his career, including in the U.S. Supreme Court and virtually every federal court of appeals in the country. He has also testified before both houses of Congress.
