My guest is Nipun Agarwal, who’s the VP of MySQL HeatWave and Advanced Development at Oracle, where you’ve been an employee for 27 years, is it?Nipun: That’s absolutely right. 27 years and that was my first job out of school. It is always great to talk to people who have focused on an area that I only make fun of from a distance, in this case, databases which, you know, DNS works well enough for most use cases, but occasionally customers have other constraints. You are clearly at or damn near at the top of your field. In my pre-show research, I was able to unearth that you have—what is it now, 170, 180 filed patents that have been issued?Nipun: That’s right. 180 issued patents.
