Following the mysterious murder of Hannah Pickering, her housemates have been conscripted by Arkham Police Detective Hardin to see if they can discover any leads. Ex-Federal Agent Sam Spade heads the novice task force and together they travel to the site of Miss Pickering's murder – a rural roadside near the city dump, where, not twelve hours prior, the discovery of her desecrated body shook a young police officer to his very core.
