His first book, “Watch My Back”, detailed his experiences working as a nightclub bouncer in Coventry for over a decade, and was made into a stage play, adapted to a BAFTA-nominated short film, and a BIFA nominated feature film. Today he is a black belt in karate, judo, and aikido, and “Black Belt Magazine USA” polled him as the most influential martial artist in the world since Bruce Lee. In his subsequent career as a writer, he has penned films for Ray Winstone, James Cosmo, and Orlando Bloom. He has also written articles for national publications, including The Times, Men’s Fitness, and GQ. He has choreographed a West End play, written an acclaimed musical and had five films and three stage plays made about his life. He has written over 40 books, including multiple Sunday Times best-sellers, and his latest, “Notes from a Factory Floor: How I got from there to here”, chronicles his journey from a Coventry bedsit to the hallowed halls of BAFTA Piccadilly.
