Description

Dr. Sanko Lewis is a martial arts practitioner and instructor of Taekwondo and Hapkido. He teaches in South Korea and South Africa. People often think that the reason why the karate punch comes from the hips straight to the target is strategic because the shortest distance between two points is a straight line. But, it could very much be purely aesthetic and not strategic. Dr. Sanko Lewis - Episode 490 In this episode, we are immediately faced with the question of how a South African ended up living and teaching taekwondo in South Korea? Dr. Sanko Lewis grew up watching kung fu movies of Jet Li and Bruce Lee. He initially wanted to learn kung fu but he found taekwondo instead because it was the only thing available in his country back then. Presently, he is now living in South Korea where he got his PhD in Taekwondo and he teaches ITF Taekwondo. Listen to learn how his journey ended up in South Korea! Show Notes In this episode, we mentioned Mr. Alex Gillis. You can check out Dr. Sanko Lewis's website here.
