The Context of White Supremacy hosts our Friday weekly forum on neutralizing Workplace Racism. The historic disruptions and global shutdowns continue as confusion and chaos abounds globally in response to "the Chinese virus" (Wuhan coronavirus). Millions filed for unemployment this month, shattering previous records for the United States. Not only have the quarantines and forced-isolation closed or minimized an enormous number of enterprises, while those who are working are facing extraordinary new challenges on the job. In Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania sanitation workers are refusing work because they report a lack of updated safety training as well and an absence of protective gear. It should not be lost on us that this is almost 52 years to the day of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr's assassination in Tennessee. He was in Memphis to assist black sanitation workers who were on strike for safe work conditions.
