Description
The Context of White Supremacy hosts our sixth study session on Dr. Gerald Horne's biography, Paul Robeson: The Artist As Revolutionary. Dr. Horne holds the Moores Professorship of History and African American Studies at the University of Houston. He's authored a bounty of texts and articles that detail what Racism/White Supremacy is and how it operates globally. His 2016 treatment of Robeson chronicles the latter's illustrious achievements as a linguist, scholar, athlete and entertainer. Robeson used the his enormous bounty of talent to address the problem of Racism. Last week's session detailed the enormous surveillance targeting Robeson for the duration of his adult life. Robeson suffered economically as his passport was stripped and he was not allowed to secure the high paying entertainment jobs he previously enjoyed. Sadly, once White Supremacists intensified their pressure on Robeson, many black people also attacked the thespian/actor. Even baseball legend Jackie Robinson joined in namecalling and publicly ridiculing Robeson. #ReadingIsMoreImportantThanWatchingTelevision INVEST in The COWS – http://paypal.me/TheCOWS Cash App: https://cash.app/$TheCOWS CALL IN NUMBER: 605.313.5164 CODE 564943#
