Dr. Martin Kevorkian returns to The Context of White Supremacy. A professor at the University of Texas Austin and author of Color Monitors: The Blackface of Technology in America, Dr. Kevorkian has been visiting The C.O.W.S. since 2009. We always appreciate hearing his views on White Supremacy in films and look forward his thoughts on a new set of movies. On this broadcast we'll review these four films: The Place Beyond The Pines (2013); The Big Lebowski (1998); I Don't Feel At Home In This World Anymore (2017); and Little Boxes (2016). Non-white actors have measly parts in these flicks as Melanie Lynskie, Jeff Bridges and Ryan Gosling take center stage. A major theme in these works - and most entertainment - celebrates White drug use, White violence and vigilante attacks. We'll pay special attention to the homoeroticism that saturates The Big Lebowski.
