Description
Do you feel unexcited by the idea of going to university or college? Do you feel like school has killed your love of learning? You're not alone.
The idea of going travelling right after high school wasn't something that either Amanda or Ryan considered, but after having completed university and going travelling, they've realized how much travel taught them that school wasn't able to teach them, or didn't teach them well.
On this episode, they discuss:
Language learning
History
Social skills and communication
Finances and budgeting
Did you learn a language in high school or university, but feel frustrated because you still can't speak it fluently? Did you learn about history simply to regurgitate the information out for a test, and then forgot about it? Do you struggle with meeting new people and interacting with people who are different from yourself? A budget? What's a budget?
Travelling gives you a different perspective on learning a language, and shows you that learning a language can be fun and fulfilling. Every day abroad can be a history lesson, and history is actually super interesting when you experience it first hand. Travelling gives you the opportunity to meet hundreds of people from around the world, and interact with them at a deeper level. Finally, travel teaches you how to budget because you only have so much money and you are forced to choose what you want to do with it each day. The value of your money becomes completely different when you're abroad.
