Description
Mark Johnstad grew up in Montana with a fly rod in his hand. He first travelled to Mongolia in 1991, where he lived for several years to help establish the protected area — he has been back almost every year since. Mark is at the forefront of taimen conservation, and he helped found Mongolia River Outfitters: a community and environmental driven organization that uses fly-fishing to bring support to the fishery. I traveled to Mongolia to experience the incredible country, and met up with Mark while I was there. In this episode of Anchored, we sit down in my yurt to stay warm by the fire, and to discuss the incredibly inspiring story behind Mongolia. This episode is sponsored by Luke Weiser custom bamboo fly rods. You can find Mark at www.mongoliarivers.com
