Description
Season 2 - Episode 1: In this episode of Re-Sight Islam, Qasim and Salaam kick off Season 2 by going back to the beginning - 14 billion years back - in order to examine some of the fundementals of how science and religion create the natural synergy that leads to the truth that we live today.
This episode grapples with the Big Bang, the creation of the stars, dark matter, dinosaurs, Adam & Eve and how science and religion are not the mutually exclusive schools of thought that so many hold. Understand what the Q'uran means by "The word of God cannot contradict the work of God."
Qasim and Salaam pay homage to Dr. Strange and Jurassic Park as they examine what is meant by the "Three Degrees of Knowledge", while the Lord of the Rings makes yet another appearance as the lessons of Cain and Abel are put into perspective. This episode will also help you understand why knowledge is a human right and the teachings of the Talmud should be honored by Muslims.
The team closes out this episode with a broader look at the 3 themes of the Season 2 - Religious Freedom, The Evolution of Religion and Human Unity Across Faith Groups.
Have a listen, and let's break bread together!
