We can’t change our history, but we can let it guide us to understanding. Isaiah Nixon was a father of six. In 1948, he dared to vote and paid with his life. A.C. Hall was a teenager. Police mistakenly identified him as a thief. They drew their guns and killed A.C. It was 1962. Each season of Buried Truths acknowledges and unearths a story of injustice, anti-Black racism, and resilience in the American South. Buried Truths is hosted by Hank Klibanoff, a Pulitzer Prize-winning author, journalist and professor. Students in his Civil Rights Cold Cases class at Emory University join him in investigating voter suppression, police privilege, racial conditioning and much more. And they honor the lives that were unjustly shattered. Start with the Peabody Award-winning first season. Buried Truths is produced by WABE in Atlanta.
