Description

On episode 24 of The One Fab Day Wedding Podcast we wanted to talk about what happens after the dust settles on your big day, how you feel once the biggest party of your life is over, and which of your laboured-over decisions will still matter a year down the line! For this, we recruited the help of newlyweds Joey and Liam, who celebrated their one-year wedding anniversary around the time of recording. They told us all about their prom-themed wedding - which was planned in nine months, from two different countries! - and what they would do differently, if given half the chance.Episode Breakdown: Episode 24: 365 Days Later - Wedding Tips and Regrets from a Real CoupleWedding tip: This week, our tip is to create some handy playlists for your big day (or borrow them from the One Fab Day archive!), and have them downloaded on yours or your wedding party members' phones. They'll come in very handy in the event of a musical emergency!Main topic: The most valuable advice you receive about your wedding often comes from a couple who have been married for a while, and have a clear idea of what really mattered on the big day, and crucially, what didn’t! Well, that’s exactly the kind of wisdom we were shooting for with this week's episode, and married couple Joey and Liam certainly delivered. 365 days after they tied the knot, they chatted with us about the highs and lows of wedding planning, sharing everything they learned along the way.Wedding dilemma: A listener writes, “We're planning on having three bridesmaids; my best friend, my sister and one of my fiancé's two sisters. How can I ask one sister without offending the other? We can't afford to have another bridesmaid and we don't get on that well, plus I don't think it's really her kind of thing either, but I want her to feel included. I thought maybe she could be an usher, but we're getting married in a registry office so it's not really necessary. Do you have any suggestions?” Our advice this week includes asking your fiancé's sister to do a reading at the ceremony or give a toast at the reception.Something to do when you're not planning your wedding: Claire's latest recommendation is the TV show Shrill, based on the book by Lindy West, and starring Aidy Bryant. Thanks for listening!
