Stunning verses - Dr. Aladdin Badawi
Surah El-Baqara: 2:2
Strange enough the Holy Qur'an begins by a challenge!
This method was not adopted at those early times, especially to propagate a beginning new religion. But recently, it has already been proven to be a strong eloquent method so that you put each idea into test and see if this result is compatible with the results known at that time.
Then to confirm certain concepts, whether scientific, historical or social , and what is more amazing that the data or ideas stated, are still valid for centuries, even over time there are more up to date comprehension to what is stated, all along 14 centuries (as we shall see).
This is something that no one can do except Allah Almighty.
Meaning:
This is the Book in which there is no doubt, a guide for the righteous.
This is a photo of one of the earliest Qur'an writings dated since the seventh decade found at Birmingham university liberary proven by carbon isotope 14 denoting its age is aroun 1370 years old written between 568-645 A.D, which proves that the wholly Qur'an was collected and written at prophit Muhamed times, in other words, not changed all the way through 14 centuries. what is astonishing also that its written on an animal leather in one of the oldest versions of arabic dilects (Hegazi handwriting -with no dots)
Even up till now there is only one version of the Qur'an.
In Muslim tradition the Quran is the final revelation from God, Islam's divine text, delivered to the Islamic prophet Muhammad through the angel Jibril (Gabriel). Muhammad's revelations were said to have been recorded orally and in writing, through Muhammad and his followers up until his death in 632 CE. These revelations were then compiled by first caliph Abu Bakr and codified during the reign of the third caliph Uthman (r. 644–656 CE) so that the standard codex edition of the Quran or Muṣḥaf was completed around 650 CE, according to Muslim scholars.
The so-called Codex Parisino-petropolitanus formerly conserved portions of two of the oldest extant Quranic manuscripts. Most surviving leaves represent a Quran that is preserved in various fragments, the largest part of which are kept in the Bibliothèque nationale de France, as BNF Arabe 328(ab). Forty-six leaves are held at the National Library of Russia and one each in the Vatican Library (Vat. Ar. 1605/1) and in the Khalili Collection of Islamic Art.

El-Baqara: 2-30.
In this verse as if GOD interacts to something, mostly was not favored to go on.
At the beginning of this verse: اذ قال
actual translation Then GOD said
, this gives an idea that this was a response for something going on (strangely Then
sounds like اذ
and can be driven of it!)
Angels were spoken to in this verse, and their response denotes that they have witnessed a lot of killing & blood shed!
The second notice about this verse which gives idea about mankind creation (reason & circumstances) is: خليفه
meaning: successor! This means that someone or some kind will die or vanish and another will be in his place.
In the verses following this one till 2-38
GOD explains that he taught Adam to be able to fit in this mission.
Can this explain the sudden disappearance of a pre-historic creatures (before mankind presence on earth?!)
Actually, in many verses of Qur'an GOD states that he destroyed previous nations to mankind as they did not obey his orders and did a lot of killing & got corrupted, verses:
29-34-8, 40-82 .
In fact there are direct orders from GOD to mankind, to search & find on earth the pre-historic evidences that denotes the sudden destruction of previous civilizations.
Actually, there are many that in some aspects clarify that they were very advanced civilizations, yet this wasn't excuse for GOD punishment.
At the end of this verse as is always said: GOD knows best
.
Meaning:
When your Lord said to the angels, I am placing a successor on earth.
They said, Will You place in it someone who will cause corruption in it and shed blood, while we declare Your praises and sanctify You?
He said, I know what you do not know.
Massive stone pillars at Göbekli Tepe, in southeast Turkey, erected for ritual use by early Neolithic people 11,000 years ago
The prehistoric period refers to the time in human history before the advent of written records, beginning with the first known use of stone tools by hominins around 3.3 million years ago and lasting until approximately 3100 BC, when recorded history began. This period encompasses significant developments in human evolution, culture, and technology.
Archaeological evidence from the prehistoric period is diverse and varies depending on the region and time frame. Here are some key types of archaeological evidence we often find:
1. Stone Tools Flint tools: Used for cutting, hunting, and processing food. Hand axes and projectile points: Essential for hunting and butchering.
2. Artifacts Pottery: Indicates advancements in technology and culture in later prehistoric periods. Ornaments: Such as beads, made from materials like shells, bone, or stone, reflecting social status and identity.
3. Structures Hearths: Remnants of fire pits that indicate cooking and habitation. Shelters: Found in caves or constructed from materials like wood and stone, showing human living conditions.
4. Burial Sites Graves and tombs: Offer insights into burial practices, social structures, and beliefs about the afterlife. Cairns and mounds: Often indicate communal sites and can reflect societal organization.
5. Art Cave paintings: Found in places like Lascaux (France) and Altamira (Spain), providing insight into prehistoric human thought and culture. Petroglyphs: Rock engravings reflecting stories, rituals, or environmental observations.
6. Food Remains Animal bones and shells: Reveal dietary practices and hunting techniques. Plant remains: Pollen and carbonized seeds provide information about agriculture and foraging.
7. Environmental Evidence Paleoenvironmental data: Such as sediment cores that provide information on climate changes and their impact on human activity. 8. Settlement Patterns Site distributions: Help to understand the movement and lifestyle of prehistoric communities, including seasonal migrations.
The Temple of the Osirion in Egypt
Its construction date and who built it are unknown, but it was built before 1250 BC.
There are no inscriptions on it, but its stones weigh 70 to 80 tons each! It is said to have been built to glorify Osiris, but it is most likely built much earlier, as the Temple of Seti I at Abydos, is directly adjacent to it, is built in an L-shape, almost complementing this historic temple or building & to preserve this megalithic structure.
What's even more strange is that it's built on water, and even in a last-ditch attempt to pump out the water with five modern pumps (at a speed of 1900 liters per minute), it didn't work!
because the water replacement rate was equal to the amount being pumped to reach the same level!! And the strangest thing is that when the water temperature was measured, a difference of about 7 degrees Celsius was found between the surface and the depth!
Also, when this water was analyzed, it was found to be different from the Nile water or the surrounding groundwater!
EL-Baqara: 2:61.
In this Aya, or verse Egypt is described as primarly an agricultural country & a shelter for those seeking peace.
The important issue about this verse that it is, for all mankind not only for Moses people to avoid extreme luxury and vanity, as this can easily lead to corruption, which is stated directly by GOD in verse (17:16), and to be always thankful to GOD.
In view of the previous verse (2:30) it's better to follow GOD's instructions.
Meaning:
And recall when you said, O Moses, we cannot endure one kind of food, so call to your Lord to produce for us of what the earth grows: of its herbs, and its cucumbers, and its garlic, and its lentils, and its onions.
He said, Would you substitute worse for better? Go down to Egypt, where you will have what you asked for.
They were struck with humiliation and poverty, and incurred wrath from God. That was because they rejected God’s revelations and wrongfully killed the prophets. That was because they disobeyed and transgressed.
El-Baqaraa:2-125.
Our master Abraham has a special and revered status in most heavenly religions.
The story of our master Abraham in the Holy Quran comes in several stages, and we can learn a lesson from each stage. For example, in his youth, he tried to prove to his father that idols neither benefit nor harm, and he broke most of them. His father and the people of the village prayed to burn him!
Following this era, we find that offering human sacrifices to please the gods - especially children - is a common occurrence!
Those who follow the stories of our master Abraham find that he uses experience and reason to reach conclusions. God, with the kindness of God, informs our master Abraham - at a young age - that His power is greater than their plots, and so He commanded the fire not to burn our master Abraham.
This becomes clearer when he repeatedly sees himself slaughtering his son Ishmael, and he intends to do so. The deed, but God Almighty redeemed our master Ishmael with a great sacrifice.
The evidence in these two incidents is that God forbids this custom (offering human sacrifices), and the most likely explanation is that it is due to the intervention of Satan. Therefore, we find, for example, that Satan worshippers, even today, are keen on this rejected tradition.
Anyone who follows the story of Abraham's guidance to faith will find it based on experiences, including his attempt to convince himself of a star (Saturn), then the moon, then the sun. This most likely occurred during his time in Egypt, where some priests adopted these same symbols as GODS!
And in the same manner, and in order to convince him, GOD told him to bring a bird, slaughter it, and place a piece of it on every mountain. Then he would call them, and they would come to him flying. And here GOD’s proof against him was completed.
In this noble verse, God clarifies to us that He made His Sacred House, since its inception, so that monotheists would make pilgrimage to it, and this would be a reward for them - and from this we understand that even in the period before our master Abraham - as evidenced by the fact that He only raised the foundations of the House (which were already present).
In this verse, He presented the making of the House a place of assembly for the people before making the Station of Abraham a place of prayer, and that they (with Ishmael) would purify the House for the monotheists and bow and prostrate
The question here is: Who performed the Hajj to the House before this period?
The answer: Monotheists, descendants of Adam, since the first message to the first prophet after him, Idris, in Egypt. The Pyramid Texts and their monotheistic hymns example of this.
One of the most surprising things that happened in the ninth century AD, during the changing of the Kaaba's covering and renovation work at the Station of Ibrahim, was that inscriptions of words whose meanings were unknown at the time were found. The historian Abu Abdullah Al-Fakihi engraved them and asked someone who knew ancient languages, Abu Zakariya Al-Maghribi, to translate them from ancient Egyptian. (In the book: Akhbar Makkah
by Al-Fakihi)
It is known that there are three ways to write the ancient Egyptian language, including hieroglyphics, demotic, and hieratic (for the general public and for simplicity). This is one of the pictures of the writing found below the Maqam Ibrahim, written in the hieratic way (Hagar? One of the Sabians?)
Interestingly, during the expansion of the Grand Mosque in Mecca in the late 20th century, there was a proposal to demolish this shrine and move it to a more distant location.
The person who opposed this idea was Egyptian Sheikh Muhammad Metwally Al-Shaarawy, who was in Mecca at the time! which happened , now you can see it in its place covered in gold.
In verse 126, it's said that are strong evidences at this Maqam Ibrahim.
Meaning:
And We made the House a focal point for the people, and a sanctuary. Use the shrine of Abraham as a place of prayer. And We commissioned Abraham and Ishmael, Sanctify My House for those who circle around it, and those who seclude themselves in it, and those who kneel and prostrate.
This is a copy of the writing at the base of the shrine, then its translation
EL-Baqara: 2:164.
In this verse GOD states that the creation of heavens and earth is related to the night & day. In a way it can be comprehended that the heaven is more responsible to the night darkness, and day time is more related to earth (its rotation around its axis). It is also sated that water is generally crucial for life, rain water plays a role in this. Finally, the wind and cloud movement is delineated at the space between the heaven and earth which we now know as the atmosphere! Clear percision!!
Rain and cloud movement are crucial elements of weather patterns, and they significantly affect climate and daily weather conditions.
Here’s a breakdown of how they work:
Cloud Movement Formation: Clouds form when water vapor in the atmosphere cools and condenses into tiny droplets. This often occurs when warm, moist air rises.
Types of Clouds: Different cloud types (cirrus, cumulus, stratus,
