Heart Protector A Forbidden Alien Romance - Robyn Coach

    Chapter 1

Axton's metallic fingers tapped out a beat on the armrest of his chair filling the briefing room with rhythmic echoes. The tension, in the air was almost tangible. It wrapped around him like a cloak and sept into his enhanced muscles. Leaning back slightly he tried to appear relaxed masking his readiness.

Axton had DNA from the Pleiadean culture, carefully selected and trained by the military for their purposes. He possessed extraordinary abilities, such as the power to halt a beating heart with his mind. His intergalactic family was renowned for their gentle nature and possessed abilities of the mind meant to guide them towards enlightenment.

Operative Axton Director Hale spoke, her voice cutting through the silence with precision. Your mission is Alana. She holds a talisman—an artifact that our information suggests could destabilize our government. You need to deal with it.

The image of Alana was like a shimmering apparition, bathed in a soft, ethereal light that radiated from within. Her eyes were pools of ancient knowledge and comfort, beckoning Axton to gaze deeper. As he looked upon her, he felt a stirring in his heart, a long-forgotten feeling buried beneath years of military conditioning and obedience.

The glowing talisman, a mysterious object that evaded even the most advanced scanners, slowly rotated in one corner of the projection. Its unassuming appearance only added to its deceptive danger. Carved from silver, the delicate owl pendant held eyes that shimmered like moonstone or opal, casting an otherworldly glow across the room. It seemed to radiate a powerful energy, pulsing with hidden forces waiting to be unleashed.

Got it Axton responded, his voice a mix of roughness and smoothness. His piercing blue eyes sharply observed every detail of her appearance. A stray strand of hair and a faint wrinkle on her forehead revealed she was worried and anxious. He had been trained to interpret all forms of body language.

Her ability to evade us thus far is... troublesome, Director Hale continued, the edge of frustration creeping into her stiff composure. You are our best asset, Axton. Your enhancements should make you more than a match for her.

Should is the operative word. Axton knew that Alana wasn't just some rogue activist. Her essence hummed with an otherworldly power, and though he'd never met her, he could feel the strangeness of her presence even through the cold digital projection.

The Director's voice dropped to a low, deadly whisper. Do not dare underestimate her, Hale cautioned. She bears the DNA signatures of a supposedly extinct South American tribe, known for their ruthless tactics and unparalleled strength. They nearly decimated our military in the last war. She paused, her eyes glinting with malice. Eliminate this threat by any means necessary.

Any means Axton repeated, although the idea didn't sit well with him. Being a hybrid himself—part alien, human, and machine. He was the perfect blend of factors that made him powerful. He was determined, stealthy, and feared.

Gear up. You deploy in thirty minutes, Hale said, her gaze locking onto his with an intensity that mirrored his own.

    Orders were orders.

Got it Axton replied as he stood up smoothly showcasing the blend of machinery and muscle that defined his being. Yet as he prepared to depart, the newly painted image of Alana lingered in his mind. She embodied feminine beauty, warmth, and wisdom. A stark contrast to his life filled with strife and steel.

As he moved away Axton pondered the mission's details. He became deeply curious about this attractive lady. She seemed harmless. The necklace, well that was just a mystery.

He questioned as he walked; was this quest truly about justice? Despite being a trained soldier honed for perfection buried beneath the mechanical exterior was a glimmer of humanity. Amidst all the training and conditioning there was a yearning for something more.

He had his mission. As Axton readied himself for the encounter he couldn't shake off the sense that Alana meant more to him than just an assignment. She was a mystery, a test challenging the core of who he was.

With the weight of his duties heavy on his shoulders, Axton set out on a path to kill the threat.

Sunlight streamed through the windows of the orphanage casting a glow on Alana's face as she skillfully caught a ball thrown with enthusiasm but little accuracy. Her musical laughter mixed with the screams of children around her. She was their anchor and a
