Donald Harry Roberts
The characters in Donald's quirky Stories, Novelettes and Novellas are all developed from aspects of himself and his imaginary friends. In real life, this mundane world with tunnel vision reality he has endeavoured to live it out in many ways. He has been a sailor and soldier, a farmer, a hobo, musician, mountaineer, hunter-gatherer, fisherman, author, editor, teacher, and student, Astral Traveler/Windrider, to mention only a fraction of his experiences. "It has been a beautiful life and I hope for more decades to learn and experience a great deal more." In these pages he will share what comes from deep within the chasms of his imagination. He lives now in near isolation on an island, with his wife/musician, Mary and their pack of mostly black dogs. His favourite past time is day dreaming.

Poems And Tales In Verse - Donald Harry Roberts
A Gentle Snow
Looking out the picture window at the snow-covered street,
On a quiet Friday night in Elliot Lake, so serene and sweet.
The world outside is hushed, under a blanket pure and white,
As snowflakes gently fall, sparkling in the lamp light.
Each flake a tiny dancer, twirling from the sky,
In the glow of the street lamps, they shimmer as they fly.
They blanket the world in silence, tucking it in tight,
Under a quilt of diamonds, glistening in the night.
The trees stand tall and regal, in their snowy crowns,
And the world is transformed, as the snow comes down.
It's a scene from a dream, or a holiday card,
A moment of peace, in a world that's often hard.
So here's to the gentle snowfall, on this Friday night,
To the beauty of winter, under the soft lamp light.
In Elliot Lake, where the snowflakes play,
We're gifted with this tranquility, at the close of day.
Snow On A Lazy Tuesday
The last sweep of March, when winter's touch still lingers,
A lazy Tuesday unfolds, with snowflakes on its fingers.
They dance and twirl in the frosty air, a ballet so grand,
Painting a white canvas on the sleeping land.
The trees stand brave, adorned in lacey flakes,
Silent witnesses to winter's last embrace.
The world is hushed, under a blanket so pure,
In this moment, time seems to endure.
But March, like a lion, begins to roar,
Shaking off the snow from the days of yore.
The winds whirl and twirl as it blows,
Whispering tales of spring's glow.
The snowflakes quiver, their dance grows slow,
As the lion's breath begins to glow.
One by one, they bid adieu,
Vanishing in the morning Dew.
The lion roars, then starts to retreat,
His mission in the realm of winter, now complete.
March, once a lion, now a lamb so mild,
Welcomes the dawn of spring, like a newborn child.
The Illusion Of Tomorrow
In the realm where time's a hollow,
Lies the enigma of tomorrow.
A land unseen, a tale untold,
Where the future's secrets unfold.
Yet, as we chase the morning light,
Tomorrow slips into the night.
For when we greet the dawn's soft ray,
Tomorrow has become today.
In the quest for time unseen,
Today is where we've always been.
And as the sun dips in the west,
Today becomes our yesterday's guest.
So we journey, in this endless swirl,
In a dance, as the stars twirl.
Chasing a day that's never in sight,
In the soft glow of the moonlight.
Tomorrow, an illusion, a phantom's jest,
In the present, we truly rest.
For when we arrive, it fades away,
Tomorrow is always a day away.
So here's to now, our truest friend,
In this moment, let's transcend.
For in the magic of today,
We'll find our path, we'll find our way.
The Wolf, The Raven and The Wizard
A tale of a man, a wolf, and a raven,
In a town, their presence a haven.
A man in a robe, a staff in his hand,
With a wolf and a raven, an odd band.
The townsfolk, they whispered, they feared,
For the trio was strange, it appeared.
Yet for twenty long years, they've been near,
No harm from them had anyone to bear.
Friend Wizard,
said the wolf, they talk of us.
Yes, old friend,
said the wizard, they discuss.
But is it not rude?
asked the raven,
Very rude,
said the wizard, their manners, a haven.
The wizard could talk, the animals could not,
Their language was different, a challenging plot.
Yet they understood each other, a magical bond,
In their silent conversations, they were fond.
A petition was raised, by
