e all have splits in our psyche and how our personality is, is multiple personalities according to a situation and relationship. There is no clear individual self with the mind as they are all different narratives, trying to study it is a case of the hunter being the hunted! This is primarily the view of David Hume (1711-1776) and his bundle theory and Buddhism, we will look at the other theory of individual self-assertion with both pros and cons later.
‘Most of the trouble in the world is caused by people wanting to be important.’- T. S. Eliot
So much goes on in every situation and there are always multiple sides to every story. It was brought out brilliantly by the classic film by Akira Kurosawa ‘RASHOMON ‘. It is a classic film examining human nature and reveals the complexity of human relationships with the event of a murder and a rape and different narratives to it by all concerned. This is now known as the Rashomon effect, which shows, how everybody relates to an event differently and recounts it making themselves look good!
‘The need to be always right is the sign of a vulgar mind ‘– Albert Camus
HUMAN VANITY AND PERCEPTIONAL REALITY.
The human mind creates everything from joy to misery. It is all a perception of the mind. By itself, any event doesn’t affect us as much as how we think about it. And it is all a passing experience. Now there is an individual mind which is full of prejudices, judgments, and conditioning of the individual and personal and there is the one cosmic mind which you can call the mind of God, which is all-knowing and directs everything in the universe and is impersonal. The idea is to transcend the personal individual mind to the all-knowing cosmic mind. When we are attracted to earthly energy by our personal mind in the physical existence of our being, we feed off the negativity of the world. What we need is not necessarily peace of mind but peace from the individual mind. The point isn’t to slay the dragon, it is to ride it. The mind can either be treated as a hindrance or a divine instrument, it’s just a matter of perception and a stance we take to it.
‘For him who has conquered the mind, the mind is the best of friends; but one who has failed to do so, his mind will remain his greatest enemy.’ – Bhagavad Gita
In this Universe, everything exists in strings of vibrations in different realms simultaneously NOW. The human experience is an earthly realm of words, higher is an astral realm of thoughts, still higher an etheric realm which is influenced by signs and symbols, over this the spiritual realm of angels, and finally the celestial realm of the one source and pure light. We are all on an independent journey through this maze of the trinity of our mind, the cosmic mind, and still higher the realm of consciousness. You have to use intuition listen to your higher self and discern what is good for you.
‘Higher than the senses is the mind, still higher the intellect and even higher spirit ‘- The Upanishads
THE WORLD IS NOT THERE TO MAKE YOU HAPPY BUT YOU HAVE THE POWER TO KNOW YOURSELF AND BE HAPPY.
Nothing outside of you should have power over you. You decide how to react to your thoughts, how you feel, and what you do in your life. If you take this full ownership, you will become FREE.
‘Self-control means the control of the lower self, or the animal nature of man, by developing the higher powers that are latent in the individual soul.’- Swami Abhedananda
‘ Everything can be taken from a man but one thing, the last of human freedoms – to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s way .’ – Victor E. Frankl
Now time is an illusion, it has been pointed out by many physicists, even Einstein commenting ‘The past, present and future are stubbornly persistent illusions’, this is a fact for the self, the observer who is outside space-time and in eternal stillness, always NOW, but human intelligence is cumulative intelligence and we live in a changing environment in psychological time, i.e. the wheel doesn’t have to be invented by every new generation and we are experiencing change and through entropy, in space-time, we are moving forward and we age. In reality, it is entropy being interpreted by us and not time, and it *is* real. When someone is questioned about their belief in time, entropy—not time—is always the answer they provide.
‘There is no past, no future; everything flows in the eternal present ‘- James Joyce
DON’T WORRY ABOUT GETTING OLD, WORRY ABOUT THINKING OLD. LIFE DOESN’T AGE IT’S A PERENNIAL BLOOMING FLOWER, FOREVER YOUNG.
The Future is NOW, The Past is NOW, and The Present is NOW. Make the most of it NOW!
Many physicists will confess that they are unable to define time and can only say that time manifests itself exclusively in one direction through entropy, leaving open the question of why the universe is the way it is. But given this fact, we are experiencing life moving forward in psychological time and every new generation will face new challenges in an ever-changing environment and will have to be adaptable. As Darwin commented ‘It is not the strongest of the species which will survive but the one most adaptable to change.’
WE ARE JUST A PART OF HISTORY UNFOLDING!
What distinguishes these two types of time, then?
Physical time can only be measured as movement between two or more things or states of reality, such as the Earth's rotation around the Sun, which gives rise to the concept of a day. This time is known as linear time, and it is marked by past, present, and hypothetical future events on a horizontal continuum.
However, this is merely one manner in which the idea of time, as a piece of consciousness, is conveyed.
In addition, there is psychological time. This is how we see time, and it is wholly subjective because it depends on how we view the world. This time frame is incredibly flexible, pliable, and varied. It is experienced by our emotions and moods and makes time relative.
It is the awareness of the Eternal Now Moment, which exists on a vertical continuum as purely potential and possibility. This infinite nothingness of possibilities can be activated
by the act of will.
You can access a higher dimensional translation of psychological time that transcends the constrained perception (and vibration) of the ego self when you make the mental shift into the consciousness of your Higher Self.
‘There is no need to go to India or anywhere else to find peace. You can find that deep silence right in your room, your garden, or even your bathtub’- Elisabeth Kubler-Ross
The idea of time is a figment of human memory; in reality, everything that has ever happened and will ever happen is happening right now. That is the hypothesis put up by a group of renowned scientists who are working to unravel one of the greatest mysteries of the cosmos.
Sri Ramana Maharishi was once wished for his birthday, he replied ‘When was Life born, that day is my birthday! ‘Some people say Life is about living and not dying but strangely life became heaven and I started living after I killed the notion of myself!
‘The first sign of the beginning of understanding is the wish to die‘- Franz Kafka

THIS WORLD AND LIFE IS TO EXPERIENCE NOT TRY AND OWN OR POSSESS!
There may be happiness in this world but I didn’t find it, if any I found it with nature. I only experienced, GREED, BACK BITING, COMPETITION and PETY MINDS. I found my bliss when I left this world and worldly ways, its TV, NEWS, AFFAIRS, and its WAYS, and started seeing myself as a spirit in an infinite universe with guardian angels of loved ones from other realms of existence in a phase of history of a limited human body experience. I realized, that the idea of a blissful life is not to LIVE THIS WORLD but life that is not limited to the metrics of this world. The problem is most people are not celebrating life, they are captivated by the world which in Hindu philosophy is a MAYA or an illusion! To celebrate YOURSELF you need to win an award or be decorated by the world. To celebrate LIFE you need nothing but a healthy conscience and a universal spirit. You just have to treat yourself as dead and live what is left of your life to its fullest and best.
‘It is by moving beyond narrow self-interest that we find meaning, purpose, and satisfaction in life.’ – Dalai Lama
‘99.9 % of the time we are thinking about ourselves and it doesn’t exist!’- Alan Watts
OUR HUMAN EXPERIENCE IS SENTIENT BUT WE ARE STILL ETERNAL INSENTIENT WITNESS.
Being in love with this world is like being in love with a jail!
Aristotle defined Happiness as Eudaemonia and Hedonia. What he tried to distinguish is that some experiences have a passing experience which is like, if you buy something new or enjoy a joke or anything that doesn’t last except for some brief time, which he referred to as Hedonia and Eudaemonia as happiness which lasts and is in the purpose of life, direction, etc.
‘The secret of happiness is to find something more important than you are and dedicate your life to it ‘- Daniel Dennet
LIFE IS A FORCE FLOWING THROUGH US, WHERE WE DIRECT OUR ATTENTION IS WHERE LIFE FLOWS.
Although we like to believe we are in control of life, everything including our actions is governed by forces that unite the human experience and are not done in isolation, as everything is also interconnected and one. Why, planning too much into the future is a futile exercise rather than flowing with life at the moment. It may be good to know the direction of your life but not try to plan it too much as life takes its course and we cannot be sure if we are masters of our life or playing out pre-destined parts of life.
‘You are what existence wants you to be, just RELAX ‘- OSHO
Instead of striving to control and preserve life,
Realize that you are life,
Life takes care of itself.
