Characters
Sarthak
Sarthak is about 30 years old carefree and easygoing man, still in between boyhood and manhood. Travelling from Goa to Ahmedabad on a sleeper bus which goes via Mumbai. Sarthak might have been a lot of things as far as his characteristics are concerned, but the play is about this bus journey and what we see on the bus journey is also another side of him. There are new discoveries about himself which also leaves him with a renewed ‘Sarthak’. He dresses in loose and bright clothes and walks as if he is a model on the streets. He is an unmissable character wherever he is be it a room, park, bus or petrol pump station.
Farhan
Farhan is an easily missable character on the street for his boy next door mannerisms and features. Farhan dresses in comfortable clothes and takes life very seriously, he is disciplined and talks less. Although, on this journey, he surprises himself when he meets Sarthak. Farhan is an avid reader and likes to spend time all by himself. He is travelling on a sleeper bus from Goa to Mumbai.
Both of them discover each other on this journey and nothing remains the same after that.
The play premiered in Mumbai at Marathi Sahitya Sangh in 2017, Directed by Dr. Omkar Bhatkar, Sarthak was played by Harsh Shah and Farhan was played by Omkar Bhatkar. Later shows were essayed by Abhishek and Omkar.
Writer-Director Note
