Her cart overflowed with a riot of colors: ruby red cherries, sunshine yellow lemons, and plump blueberries the color of a summer sky. Today's special wasn't just visually arresting; it was an aromatic assault on the senses. The air hung heavy with the heady perfume of lavender and the sharp tang of earl grey tea.

Nathaniel, caught off guard, emerged from behind his barricade of books. He was younger than she'd imagined, with piercing blue eyes that seemed perpetually judging the world around him.
