Jesus Resurrection - Joseph J. Randazzo

    Chapter 1

    Jesus Of Nazareth

    JESUS

"I am the resurrection and the life, …

The one who believes in me will live, even though they die"

And whoever lives by believing in me will never die.

    Jesus Of Nazareth

Born into a Jewish Family about 2000 years ago in the small town of Bethlehem, Israel and then grew up in the community of Nazareth, a village in the northern part of Palestine called Galilee.

The estimated date of the birth of Jesus varies from 1 to 6 B.C. in community of Palestine, which was occupied by Rome during the life of Jesus the Christ.

It is believed that Jesus spoke Aramaic and probably also Hebrew and Greek. His Jewish name is called, (Yeshua). It is understood that Jesus was schooled for the times as he attended the local synagogue and learned to read ancient scripture. It was the Jewish custom to observe the Sabbath and the Jewish feast days. On any given day, Jesus would pray three times a day: in the morning, at three in the afternoon, and at sunset.

His mother was named, Mary and She was married to Joseph, known as the foster father of Jesus.

The foster father, Joseph, was of the tribe of Judah, the family of King David. Joseph was a carpenter, which can mean a craftsman with knowledge of builder with wood or stone, and it is said that Jesus was also carpenter raised by Joseph and Mary.

Many documented historical records write of Jesus the Galilean from the following:

•Josephus, a Jewish historian, mentioned Jesus in his writings in about A.D. 95.

•Tacitus, a Roman historian in about A.D. 115 reported on the Roman fire started by Nero but blamed on Christians. Tacitus wrote:

"Christus, from whom the name [Christian] has its origin, suffered the extreme penalty during the reign of Tiberius at the hands of one of our procurators, Pontius Pilate."

About one-third the seven billion plus population on planet earth are people who claim to be Christians of one Christian denomination or another within the Christan Faith Community. Lord Jesus the Christ has become one of the most famous and influential historical people who ever walked the planet earth.

Devout Christians base their lives on the teachings and promises of Jesus Christ showing them the Christ way of living and honoring the Kingdom of GOD.

When Jesus was about thirty years of age, he started his ministry and became to collect his disciples also called Apostles. Jesus taught by using very simple stories and examples of stories the Apostles and observers could understand and relate to. Jesus always put GOD first in the teachings and would refer to the Heavenly Father as the source of all good and wellness from the Kingdom of GOD.

Therefore, the Kingdom of GOD and the society of Heaven was mentioned by Jesus many times as the afterlife and thus encouraged his followers to obey GODs laws and live good clean honorable lives.

The followers of Jesus journeyed distances to see him and hear him preach. It is said that hearing his teaching would affect the listener and change their lives by lifting their standards and giving the hope in seeking the Kingdom of GOD.

And very well documented it is known that Jesus the Christ, the first-born son of the living GOD was a major healer and a worker of many miracles.

Most all scholars in history will claim that Jesus of Nazareth was a great teacher who left a footprint on the world for all eternity.

The Gospels, written after Jesus’ life recorded stories of how human he experienced the human process and even temptations. These are some to the mentions of the human side of Jesus.

•Jesus had friends and enjoyed parties and gatherings.

•Jesus demonstrated showing compassion for the widow whose son died.

•Jesus cried at the tomb of one of his best friends Lazarus.

•Jesus delighted in blessing the children.

•Jesus became angry at the people who did not show respect for the Temple.

•Jesus felt pain and knew death.

•Jesus had a human body and loved with a human heart.

As time went on with the mission of Jesus, he made a claim that his was the SON of GOD, the one prophesied in ancient scripture as the very Messiah, this honest discloser put the religious leaders of the day in a panic and caused the Jewish authorities to proceed to cast him out of the community.

However, the following of Jesus was becoming too great, and his miracles caused much disruptiveness to the Jewish leaders of the day in the Counsel of the Sanhedrin. The Leaders then decided to turn Jesus over the Roman authorities and let the Governor judge Jesus for his crimes, whereby Punches Piolet decided it would be better to put him to death.

The Roman authorities also opposed the growth of the teachings of Jesus and sought to keep peace with by not allowing violent protest upon the new Christian community whereby in time the Romans would also prosecute the followers of Jesus by means of sport victims in the Colosseum or by killing the Christians by crucifixion.

After about three years, the Gospels report that Jesus was crucified by the Romans. Some Jewish leaders believed Jesus blasphemed by saying, He was the SON of GOD.

At the time of the crucifixion, the Roman soldiers posted a sign on top of the cross, stating his crime and read Jesus the Nazarene, King of the Jews. After the death of Jesus on the cross, he was buried, and tomb sealed. Three days later, his followers saw him alive and present to them in a new and transformed way.

    The Mother Of Jesus

The Mother of Jesus is situated in a unique role in her life and the life of Jesus as part of the greatest story ever told. Her name is one of the most popular female names is history, Mary as called in the English language and Miriam in the Hebrew language.

Mary has a very blessed choosing from GOD, to give birth to a baby boy to be named Jesus, thus we see that the Jesus in later years with advanced spiritual abilities and performs amazing miracles along with the resurrection event that changed the course of the world.

Mary was born into the Jewish community around 20 B.C in the small town of Nazareth, Galilee, and then giving birth to the baby Jesus around the 4th to the 6th of B.C, estimating young Mary’s age of about 14 – 16 years old.

Mary is the daughter of Saint Joachim and Saint Anne, She is a direct descendant of Abraham, who fathered the Christian, Jewish and Islamic traditions. Mary’s family tree goes back further to such Bible Matriarchs as King David and Solomon, who played pivotal advancement in GODs story who in turn goes back to the beginning of GOD’s creation, Adam, and Eve. As Mary was born into a family tree or linage from the beginning of GOD design, then so was Jesus likewise born into a special selected generational preordained plan.

    In the Gospel of Luke

Amazingly, and surprised by overwhelm, Mary was visited by an Angel as a young girl. Mary was at that time engaged to be married to a man named, Joseph who was an older man and widower who already had a family of older children. Joseph was a carpenter by profession and part of a family tree going back to Abraham as well.

The Angel told Mary that she had found favour with GOD and would give birth to his son, who would be called, Jesus, meaning one who saves.

Mary, seeming puzzled, asked how this was possible, as she was a virgin, and the Angel replied that the Holy Spirit would come upon her. She replied,

    Mary

‘I am the Lord’s servant; may it be as you have said’.

When Mary discovered she was pregnant, she told Joseph, and he had a hard time understanding how this pregnancy was true as Mary claimed, or such a story was legitimate.

Joseph being an honorable man at first thought to move Mary to safety, as premarital sex was a crime and could have Mary stoned to death. Then upon Mary’s safety, Joseph’s plan was not to marry and go on with his life. Then, the Angel gave Joseph a message that Mary was truly pregnant with GODs plan and Joseph understood as he was also obedient to GOD and then chose to marry, Mary the Mother of Jesus.

At the time when Mary was at the end of her pregnancy, the local government called a census to be taken, Joseph then took Mary to Bethlehem to register in the census. The community was full of travelers as all the inns were full and Joseph was forced to choose a stable for the night, Mary gave birth to a baby boy, Jesus, who would become known as Jesus the Christ.

Eventually Mary and Joseph returned home to Nazareth, where they lived quietly and provided the duties as good parents for the young Jesus growing up.

Bible scripture notes, Mary is mentioned witnessing various events where Jesus performs miracles most importantly witnessed the crucifixion of Jesus.

Mary was also praying amongst his Apostles after Jesus’ Resurrection from death and then witnessed the ascension of Jesus into heaven.

The Roman Catholic Church and Anglicans believe,

•Mary had a perpetual virginity, whereby she was a virgin both before Jesus the Christ was born and Mary retained her virginity despite giving birth and continued a virgin for the remainder of her life on earth.

•Mary the Mother of Jesus is believed to have been conceived immaculately just like Jesus the Christ which means that she is born without original sin.

•Mary is also held to be the mother of God that is the mother of a divine being, not just the mother of a human incarnation of God, and so is sometimes seen as the mother of heaven.

•She is thought to have ascended to heaven at the end of her life, rather than dying.

As the record in history shows, Mary came from the direct linage of GODs creation where she too was born by immaculate conception by an Angel of GOD through the Holy Spirit, noting this preparing of a special genetic coded human female would in time be the mother to bear an illuminating highly evolved baby called, Emmanuel, (Meaning GOD is with us),

the first-born SON of the Living GOD to be born in human form to present his path of salvation and Truth to the world for all humankind.

The Younger Years Of Jesus Ages 12 to 29

The recorded Gospels do not tell us very much about Jesus’ childhood; they focus instead on Jesus public ministry, which only lasted about three years. Hundreds of years after Jesus lived, some people made up stories about the childhood of Jesus, however, these stories had no hard-core facts.

In the Gospel of Mark 6:3

In one event as Jesus’ was a young boy when Mary and Joseph returned from Egypt where they had fled to avoid King Herod’s attempts to murder young boy children. Mary and Jospeh settled in Nazareth, where Jesus worked alongside Joseph his stepfather as a carpenter.

In the Gospel of Luke 2: 41-52

Each year in the Jewish custom they celebrate the Feast of the Passover, And Mary and Joseph would travel to Jerusalem for this special time of worship about thanksgiving. This year young Jesus was about the age of 12 years old.

As they were on their way back to Nazareth in a large caravan, they suddenly discovered Jesus was missing. They as parent started to panic, and they eventually found Him in the Temple discussing GODs Word with the teachers there.

When His parents rebuked Him in their stress and worry, Jesus replied and said,

    JESUS

Didn’t you know I had to be in my Father’s house?

By the confident reply of Jesus with respect to his earthly parents, Jesus confirms he is about his Heavenly Father Business why must they worry …

    The Roman Catholic Vatican

Many researchers claim the Roman Catholic Vatican knows the truth about the early years of Jesus of Nazareth from ages 13 to age 30. Tradition says this could alter the understanding of the Jesus story and traditional beliefs.

And yet some researchers believe that he spent these undocumented years visiting foreign locations due to the fact with one ‘Joseph of Arimathea’, who is believed to be the uncle of Jesus, on His mother’s side of the family. Joseph of Arimathea was a known wealthy merchant and family member along with being a devote follower of GOD and Jesus.

    Jesus And The Essenes

The Essenes community were a Jewish sec that are believed to have written the Deas Sea Scrolls and became noted upon again upon the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls in the 1940s -50s.

The Essenes community was a small discipline monastery group of approximately four thousand (4,000) men that separated themselves from the Pharisees and the Sadducees by adhering to strict legal observance and considered the Jerusalem Temple priesthood corrupt and rejected much of the temple ritual and sacrificial ceremonies.

Historical writers like, Philo of Alexandria, Josephus, and Pliny the Elder agreed that the Essenes Qumran community made note of history by writing the Dead Sea Scrolls.

History says scholars and writers. The Qumran community referred to themselves as Sons of Zadok, Men of the Community, Members of the Covenant and most noted as the Sons of Light,.

Because they were convinced that they were the true remnant, these Qumran Essenes had separated themselves from Judaism at large and devoted themselves in preparation for the final war between the Sons of Light and the Sons of Darkness.

They practiced an Apocalyptic Faith, the Teachings of Righteousness and looked forward to a coming Messiah. The community disappeared around 70 A.D after the destruction of the Jerusalem Temple.

    Essenes And Jesus

The teachings of the Essenes regarding devote mosaic law, pray, spiritual fasting, teachings of righteousness and standing with the Sons of Light, … have a true similarity of Jesus and John the Baptist in their teachings.

It is suspected that John the Baptist and Jesus both visited the community of the Essenes, however, not assigned into the membership in this dessert community organization.

The Essenes are not mentioned in
