"Hellscape" is a short descriptive flash fiction about a woman dreaming about hell and the horrors it can bring.

 

In "Experiment" Zaela awakes in an old hotel room with no memories but that of a man named Valrick and a text saying tomorrow.

 

In "Myth of the Trophy Eggs and the Conjoined War of the Beasts" join the people of Aizyn in a brutal war against the five kinds of mythical beasts. This myth is from Cole's The Aizyn Chronicles.

 

"The Fate of Karseere" is a retelling of the Greek creation myth.

 

At the end is a sneak peek into Cole's upcoming work The Aizyn Chronicles: The Dragons Return. Maezyn and Seiyn race against time to save Malda from destruction.

Thank you for downloading my ebook. This is a collection of stories written for completed courses for my degree in Creative Writing. It is an odd collection of works that will take you on a journey to several unique and different worlds. I hope you enjoy all these adventures.

Eilyn’s Wolpertinger

Eilyn sat in a chair across from the window. She wanted to be out with all the older kids. I hate being 12. Too old and too young at the same time. She frowned.

One more year.

Her eyes swept the room. It was too loud. Too hot. Too much. Her heart was beating too fast. She needed fresh air. She ran to the window. The instant relief when the cool air kissed her faced was refreshing. It was cold. She rubbed her arms.

She stood on her toes to close the window when she heard a rustle in the bushes across the way. What was that? She had to see what it was, but she wasn’t allowed out while the main event was underway.

Eilyn weighed her odds of getting caught vs. not getting caught sneaking outside on Urban Legend Day, her favorite day of the year. She decided that it was worth it.

She would sneak out to see what it was.

How do I get out?

She scanned the room to find a vulnerable spot. There were so many adults, so her vision was hindered. No one was watching the far back corner window. That’s where she would sneak out.

Is it worth it? I would lose many privileges if I’m caught... Her frame shook at the thought, but she had to know what that blur was.

She gave a smile to everyone she walked by. The stroll only lasted a few seconds, but it felt like forever. She let out a deep breath upon her arrival at the corner. The window was a lower window that she could reach.

This is it. My last chance out. She took a deep breath and let it out. I want to know what that was.

Eilyn flipped the window lock and pushed the window open. A wall of cold came
