About this ebook
Simon is a middle-aged clown who has grown disillusioned with his life and profession. Despite his natural-born clownish appearance, he is deeply sad and unfulfilled, longing for something more meaningful. His life takes an unexpected turn when he is abducted by an alien spaceship and brought aboard by mysterious alien beings.
The aliens, who are residents of the planet Xenobia, believe that Simon's ability to find joy amidst sorrow is what their civilization needs, and they appoint him as their Supreme Leader. Initially skeptical, Simon accepts the proposition and embarks on an interstellar journey.
Upon arriving on Xenobia, Simon is overwhelmed by the strange sights and beings he encounters in the alien city of Pantomima. Despite his doubts and confusion, he accepts the role of ruler, recognizing the potential for a greater purpose beyond his previous life as a clown.
Simon grapples with his new role and responsibilities, attending meetings with various alien dignitaries and navigating the complex political landscape of Xenobia. With the help of an amiable alien named Zanar, who becomes his guide and mentor, Simon begins to embrace his role as the "cosmic jester" and finds a renewed sense of purpose.
As Simon adjusts to his new life, he becomes embroiled in the intricate politics of Xenobia, facing conspiracies and attempts to undermine his authority. Using his wit and observational skills, he navigates the intrigue and emerges victorious, solidifying his leadership and gaining newfound respect from the alien population.
Simon's journey takes an unexpected romantic turn when he develops a profound bond with Li'lia, a civil servant from the Luminae species of Xenobia. Their unique union becomes a beacon of interspecies love and resilience, shaping Simon's decisions and infusing his leadership with newfound empathy and wisdom.
However, the peace on Xenobia is threatened when Vorak, a trusted advisor, betrays Simon and conspires with the Otharians, a rival species vying for control. Simon rallies the Xenobians and, with the support of Li'lia and Zanar, navigates the turbulent aftermath, solidifying his resolve to protect Xenobia.
In a climactic battle, Simon leads the Xenobian forces against the invading Otharian army, orchestrating a decisive victory through unconventional tactics and secret defense systems developed with allied worlds. This victory ushers in a new era of interstellar cooperation, with Xenobia at its heart.
Simon then returns to Earth, causing a stir with his clown-like appearance and extraordinary tales of his adventures on Xenobia. Initially met with skepticism, he gains allies and establishes communication hubs between Earth and Xenobia. However, a shocking revelation emerges – the Otharians' true target has always been Earth, and their clash with Xenobia was merely a distraction.
As an Otharian invasion force led by the formidable Admiral M'Ethar approaches Earth, Simon activates a united front of Xenobian and allied forces, ready to defend Earth in what is described as Earth's first galactic war.
The B-Novel explores themes of self-discovery, resilience, and the power of laughter and unity in the face of adversity, as a former clown from Earth unexpectedly becomes the leader of an alien civilization and ultimately plays a pivotal role in protecting both his new home and his home planet.
Cory Rogers
Cory Rogers, a pen name contrived in years of study within the shady corners of B-Movie heaven, is a writer whose passion for cheesy, over-the-top storytelling knows no bounds. With a pen that wields the power of an ancient Zeus-delivered lightning bolt and a mind steeped in the tropes of the sci-fi films of the 50s and 60s as well as the grindhouse films of the 70s and 80s, Cory has crafted a unique breed of B-Novel that will have you laughing out loud, your jaw on the floor, and your imagination racing down the sticky floors of the seedy downtown cinema trying to pass in front of that fat guy with an extra-large bucket of popcorn, two hot dogs and a diet soft drink, sitting alone in the aisle seat. As a veteran of short stories and full-fledged novels, Cory Rogers has honed his craft through years of project writing for the stage and screen - although not with that professional sobriquet. Utilizing the latest AI-powered writing tools, he maintains a high-quality and entertaining writing style at a much faster pace than the usual underwear-clad writer sitting in front of a computer screen wondering what article to use to start the first sentence. New to the world of B-Novels, Cory embraces the genre with gusto, infusing his unique voice and boundless creativity into each page. Cory strives to immerse the reader in vivid descriptions of seedy locals, neon-lit streets, and otherworldly landscapes that explore different genres while staying solidly within the B-Novel genre. Encounter flamboyant characters, cheesy dialogue, and plots so outrageous they'll make your head spin and spit pea soup. Get ready to be entertained, surprised, and experience a B-Novel that will reimagine the literary genres.
