Bow Wave felt frisky and full of run. He snatched at his bit and danced as much as he jogged, a dark grey baby intent only on having a good time. He wanted to run and let his rider know it in no uncertain terms, but Dixie Toliver held him in without mercy, keeping him to a slow, steady jog on the far outside of the Calder track.
