About this ebook

Prologue.
In baseball and soccer, the outcome is determined by the coach\'s tactics.
To maximize performance and profits, it is necessary to delight customers and fans with quick information gathering and accurate analysis based on vast data.
The coach, who is responsible for the entire game, must respect the individuality of the players, acknowledge the unique authority of the coaches, and accommodate the demands of the audience, while also considering the strategy for player placement based on the opposing team.
Despite the limited capacity of the coach, the responsibility for poor performance is absolute, so fundamentally, leading players and coaches to victory and success requires deep knowledge of baseball and soccer.
We approach baseball tactics through an understanding of pitching, catching, hitting, defense, and base running, and examine soccer tactics by analyzing the four-back formation and three-back formation.

Wander through the forests of baseball and soccer with strategists from the Three Kingdoms.

The United States is the first in the world to choose a presidential system.

European politicians expect this unique political experiment to fail within a few years.

They expect a strong president to engage in royal politics, not satisfied with a four-year term.

However, the United States establishes itself as a model democracy.

It creates the power to lead the world with a presidential system.

In the late 19th century, Britain enters a path of decline. Its share in global manufacturing falls from 22.9% in 1880 to 18.5% in 1900.

In contrast, the United States rises significantly from 14.7% to 23.6% in the same period.

As the capital returns in the United States increase, more and more British capital flows into the United States, boosting its growth potential and international competitiveness.

The financial industry, which has enriched Britain, seeks higher returns and turns its gaze to the United States, accelerating Britain's economic decline.

In the mid-19th century, as European immigrants to the United States surged, a diverse culture emerged.

These immigrants brought their traditional sports and games to the United States, localizing them, with cricket and rounders, which laid the foundation for baseball, being prime examples.

The United States deliberated on establishing a foundation for national sports distinct from British sports like cricket and rounders.

Alexander Cartwright (1820-1892), who led the founding of the first baseball team, the New York Knickerbockers (1842), created the Knickerbocker baseball rules in 1845.

Cartwright, often considered the founder of modern baseball, played the first official game with 20 intricate rules on a diamond-shaped field.

Major League Baseball began its first era, the Pioneer Era (1845-1904), with the start of the 360-cycle.

At the age of 49, James K. Polk (1846-1849) became the youngest president of the United States, revealing ambitious dreams of reestablishing financial independence, resolving the Oregon boundary dispute, and annexing California.

On December 29, 1845, Polk merged the Republic of Texas into the United States as a state. Mexico, viewing the actions of the Republic of Texas, which had gained independence in the Texas Revolution (1836), as a rebellion, opposed the annexation.

In the Mexican-American War (1846-1848), General Zachary Taylor advanced to the Rio Grande and achieved a great victory at Buena Vista, while General Winfield Scott occupied Mexico City.

In 1848, through the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, the United States acquired New Mexico, California, Colorado, Arizona, Nevada, and Utah for $15 million.

The discovery of vast gold mines in California and the resulting increase in the supply of gold began to alleviate the United States' currency contraction.

William Hulbert (1832-1882) established the National League (NL) in 1876 with six clubs from the National Association (NA) and two independent clubs, solidifying team-centered baseball.

In 1882, the American Association (AA) was launched by liquor dealers to expand their profit businesses, leading to the activation of the two major leagues and opening the way for coexistence.

Ban Johnson (1864-1931) consolidated players who had left the National League to form the American League (AL) with eight teams in 1901.

The World Series, where champions from both leagues competed, was held in 1903, and Theodore Roosevelt (1901-1909) ordered a U.S. naval blockade of Panama's maritime route using battleships.

War Secretary William Howard Taft confirmed Japan's suzerainty over Korea and U.S. domination over the Philippines by signing the Taft-Katsura Agreement in 1905.

Major League Baseball enters its second era, the Expansion Era (1905-1964), with summer approaching.

Just as the National League and the American League were establishing themselves as integral parts of American sports, they faced a crisis.

In 1919, the infamous Black Sox Scandal, a major match-fixing incident, came to light.

The Black Sox Scandal involved eight players from the Chicago White Sox who were accused of intentionally losing the World Series against the Cincinnati Reds for money from a gambling syndicate.

Although the eight players from the White Sox were acquitted in a public trial, they were permanently banned from professional baseball.

The acquittal and the permanent ban were a legal and sports organizational paradox, but the Major League Baseball office took extraordinary measures to uphold the rules and ethics of the sport.

The emergence of star players helps Major League Baseball survive.

In 1920, Babe Ruth, traded from the Boston Red Sox to the New York Yankees, transforms a struggling team into one of the most prestigious franchises.

Babe Ruth's trade from the Boston Red Sox to the New York Yankees creates the first major story in American professional sports history, known as Babe Ruth's Curse.

The Curse of the Bambino refers to the decades-long misfortune of the Boston Red Sox, who failed to win the World Series after trading Babe Ruth, nicknamed Bambino, to the New York Yankees.

The Red Sox broke the curse in 2004, 86 years after their last World Series win in 1918.

Surviving the Great Depression and World War II, Major League Baseball breaks the color barrier by signing Jackie Robinson shortly after the war.

African Americans who migrated to the United States as slaves could not play baseball with whites, leading to the founding of the Negro Leagues in the 1880s.

Starting as the first baseman for the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1947, African American Jackie Robinson was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1962.

With Robinson's signing by the Brooklyn Dodgers, racial discrimination in professional baseball came to an end.

Major League Baseball spans the summer of the Expansion Era (1965-2024). Established as commercial content in the 1960s, new teams are created and existing teams change their hometowns.

With the increase in the number of teams due to expansion and the burden
