About this ebook

CPD Detective Judy Anderson was assigned the case unofficially named the Missing Porn Star. Det. Anderson quickly learns that there many suspects to interview, many with good reason to eliminate Kendra, many were ex-lover, mostly of the lesbian persuasion. The first order in her investigation was to find the body, which makes it difficult to pursue it as a suicide. Even though, Kendra was missing, her car was found in the Ohio River and the bloody mess on the sidewalk Judy wasn’t so sure she actually died by her own hand.

The investigation led the scrappy detective all over the Tri-State area, from Ohio, to Northern Kentucky to Southeast Indiana. She started with Kendra’s last know lover, an over the hill rock singer named Charlotte Birch, a realtor in Union Kentucky and an owner of a auto repair shop in the Price Hill neighborhood of Cincinnati, name Fiona.

Detective Judy Anderson began to take the case personally, let it get under her skin and eventually she got caught up in the sordid world the Kendra Reid once lived. It took all of the detective's energy to not become a victim like Kendra. When she began being haunted by dreams of the missing actor, she was certain it was a sign she was alive, laughing at those who believed in her demise, drinking Champagne in some mansion with her newest escort, enjoying life even more than before because now she could start anew.

    Cincinnati, Ohio-2014

A pair of black Jimmy Choo stilettos I'd never forget.

They were found soaked in blood at the bottom of a high rise apartment building in Hyde Park.

Her dream had always been to make a great exit, rather than expansive entrances. It was a way to silence the pain and the voices she had been hearing since childhood, like Bernadette Soubirous. She had always been sad; her entire life had been a void, and nothingness consumed her, ate her, and pushed her into the arms of her last lover.

To her last girlfriend she had said La Muerte es mejor amante que tú.

    Nothing saintly about Kendra Reid.

It was generally believed this last lesbian girlfriend was her assassin. And if not her, then certainly some other angry lover. I had been assigned to the case of the Porno Queen Murder.

At the time I had youth on my side, adequate skills, the ability to move quickly. I questioned everyone that knew Kendra, from her single mother to her last lover; and practically everyone who had crossed paths with her. It was a bizarre menagerie of suspects that I had never imagined lived in Cincinnati; each with their own tales so crammed with emotion, violence, and horror that it could have spewed from the pages of a gritty pulp fiction novel or popped out of a mid-twentieth century grind house theater. There are, as they say, a myriad of stories in the Queen City.

The places she had gone. Marseille, Vienna, Rio, Amsterdam, Los Angeles, Key Wade, Punta Gorda in Belize. She had left lovers everywhere, and was never sated, sought more and more, indiscriminately, mostly among members of her own gender. Yes, she was a desperate, unfulfilled girl, seeking something beyond words, inaccessible, enigmatic.

    "Perhaps she was seeking
