About this ebook
This is an English study book aimed at Chinese speakers learning conversational English. The book presents lots of everyday slang, colloquial idioms and expressions which native speakers use in real life, which Hong Kong Chinese learners could benefit from as they integrate into local communities in the U.K.
Belinda Ginns
Belinda Ginns, B.Ed., TOSEL, has more than 20 years experience as an English Lecturer in Hong Kong. She has taught in different corporations, schools, vocational training centres, and tertiary educational institutions in Hong Kong, including The City University and The University of Science and Technology. She was also involved in the facilitation of translation and communication in the area of personnel development in Cathay Pacific Airways. Being Eurasian, she speaks both English and Cantonese fluently. With an IELTS score of 9, she shares her insights into the learning and practice of spoken English- an area where she feels Chinese students of English struggle with most. Belinda is married with four sons, all of whom are working or studying in London, where she resides with her husband. She spends her leisure time painting and volunteering in her local church.
