Foreword

I first saw Pastor Otis Manning on a local television program. His television program showcased weekly Bible Studies on channel 14, Community Minded TV. I had a television program as well that was aired directly after Pastor Manning’s program. My television program was called Street Reality, where our team went out into the streets of downtown Spokane, Washington, and our team evangelized with people of all ages. I filmed every encounter that he had and aired those encounters on our television program.

I had asked CMTV’s Managing Producer to please introduce me to Pastor Otis Manning. I wanted to meet him personally, for I wanted to attend his church services. I had witnessed firsthand the immense power of his teaching on television and his spiritual guidance to heal broken hearts, uplift spirits, and deepen the faith of those who watched his program. Pastor Manning personally helped me battle through my father’s challenges and the darkest moments of his suicide attempts. He and his congregation helped my father by praying and fasting for his salvation daily until my father received Christ Jesus as his Lord and personal Savior. Pastor Manning’s television program helped my father feel the light of God’s love and stay true to his faith in Jesus Christ after he had received salvation. My father, too, faithfully watched Pastor Manning’s television programs.

So, when Pastor Manning, told me he was publishing a book, I was overjoyed at the prospect of his godly wisdom reaching and inspiring even more people. I felt honored when he asked me to write the foreword to his book, knowing he has touched countless lives but has remained a humble servant focused only on shining the light of Jesus Christ.

In this new book, Pastor Manning delves deeply into the scriptures of the bible and finds the antidote to the issues people are facing today with characteristic empathy and insight. As someone who has worked in evangelical ministry for over a decade in Los Angeles, California, Pastor Manning has personally seen the struggles that many people face while being homeless and living on the streets. I was moved directly by his profound understanding of the struggles people endure in our complex world. He calls on us to uplift and embrace this millennial generation, reminding us that they are loved by God, and they are just trying to navigate their spiritual identities just as we once did.
