About this ebook

Three fun short romances that are sure to make you laugh and warm your heart!

The Chef-Next-Door Kiss

A stolen memento and a mission to retrieve it...but who will steal a heart?

A girl doesn't just let her cheating ex steal her dead mother's cookbook without stealing it back. At least, that's Australian carpenter Jaqueline Piper's philosophy.

Jacq's on a mission to retrieve her most precious possession, and her neighbor, Louisiana chef Donny Greyson, isn't about to let her do it alone. But while he's the only thing that got Jacq through her break-up, she hasn't been entirely forthcoming with him about her plan. Like the part about breaking-and-entering. Or her ex's biker neighbors…

The Double-Dare Kiss

A workplace nemesis and one outrageous challenge...who will win the double-dare?

All Bea MacLaren wants is to survive this work Christmas party and beat Henry Miller to the Corporate Communications Manager promotion—her mother and siblings are counting on her.

But when Henry attempts to distract her with an outrageous dare, is it just a last-ditch effort to discredit her before the promotion? Or something sweeter?

The Goodbye Kiss

When their comedy TV film shoot/road trip comes to an end, will Mackenzie and Tommy part ways, or admit that opposites really do attract?

Mackenzie McIntyre has always been exasperated by the other half of her brother's comedy duo, the legendary man-child Tommy Shaw. But when her brother's car accident jeapordizes their next road-trip comedy special, she steps up to take his place. Audiences love Tommy's antics and Mackenzie's eye rolls—but will the show's finale be a flop, or will it take this reluctant partnership to a whole new level?

    Chapter One

It was the perfect evening to commit a crime.

Jacqueline Piper relished the scent of freshly cut wood as she maneuvered Betsy—her favorite chainsaw—with expert precision. She flickered her gaze between the chunk of eucalyptus timber before her and the whittled figures perched atop her backyard fence as she drew in another calming breath. Whatever her plans for later in the evening, her hands needed to remain steady now, or she’d screw up her gift for Don.

A slash of the chainsaw liberated another swath of wood from the rustic dining table taking shape—a life-size version of the one her next-door-neighbor had whittled for her, along with tiny wooden versions of herself and her mother. The carvings depicted the photo that hung in her kitchen. Don was thoughtful like that.

Her phone buzzed in her pocket and she backed off the throttle. A spike of nervous energy vibrated through her with more force than the chainsaw. She’d hoped to make more progress before the sun dipped below the western Brisbane skyline. But if this message was from who she thought it was, then she had to abandon her good deed to go and break into her ex-boyfriend’s home.

She pulled her phone from the pocket of her bleach-stained denim shorts and scanned the message from Reggie—a client who tonight doubled as a look-out. All clear. She ran a hand through her hair, dislodging sawdust and wood splinters, and gave an incredulous laugh. Was she really going to do this? Her gaze swung toward Don’s carved figure of Mum. Jacq’s muscles tightened. Of course she was. A girl didn’t just let her cheating ex steal her dead mother’s cookbook without stealing it back.

    Time to go.

She brushed wood chips from the t-shirt she was wearing—one of Mum’s old ones—and stashed Betsy in her toolshed before she ducked into the house to grab her keys and her best cat burgling outfit. One quick change later, and she was in black activewear and out the front door, heart rate climbing with every step she took toward her geriatric Ford Laser.

Please tell me you’re not doing what I think you’re doing. The deep male voice behind her carried a smooth Louisiana cadence and a dash
