A Chance Encounter

As the sun set over the city, Emily walked through the park, enjoying the crisp evening air. She loved to take long walks after work to clear her head and reflect on the day's events. She was lost in thought when she heard a voice calling her name. She turned to see a man she hadn't seen in years, her old high school sweetheart, John.

Emily's heart skipped a beat as she saw him approaching. John had always been the one who got away, the one she had never forgotten. She wondered what he was doing in the city, and why he had called out to her. As he got closer, she noticed how handsome he looked, with his sandy brown hair and piercing blue eyes. He smiled at her, and she felt her heart flutter.

Emily, is that really you? John asked, as he reached out to give her a hug. It's been so long, how are you?

Emily couldn't believe it. She had heard from mutual friends that John had moved away after high school and hadn't been back since. She was surprised to see him in the city, let alone running into him by chance.

I'm good, thanks, Emily said, trying to keep her composure. What about you? What brings you to the city?

I'm here for work, actually, John said. I got a job with a tech firm, and they sent me here for a few months. It's great to see you again, Emily. You look amazing.

Emily felt herself blushing as John complimented her. She had always been self-conscious about her appearance, but hearing him say she looked good made her feel special.

As they walked through the park, John told Emily about his job and how he had been doing since high school. She listened intently, feeling a sense of nostalgia wash over her. She couldn't help but think about all the good times they had shared together.

Before they knew it, it was getting late and time for Emily to head home. She and John exchanged numbers and made plans to meet up for dinner later in the week.
