Color Warps:

Before each level, find the mini breakout game in the information screen's bottom right corner. Adjust the highlighted number for level warps by moving left or right. Press the fire/jump button to set it. Warps come in different colors: Red, Yellow, Green, Aqua.

Secret Stages:

Maintain a 5-star rating throughout the level by avoiding getting shot down and hitting at least 50% of enemies.

Golden Valley: Beat Stage 5 (Coastal Industrial Zone) with at least 4 stars.

Clouds of Twilight: Beat Stage 9A/9B (Iceberg Base OR Sea of Clouds) and get at least 4 stars.

Air Trix

Unlock 2 New Skaters: At the 'Character Selection' screen, hold the 'Left' and 'Right' buttons and press 'Start' to unlock 2 new skaters.

Alcon

Advance to Level 2:

Start a new game, remain idle, and don't fire a single shot. After passing the first 3 enemies with your first ship, let the enemies shoot you down, and your second ship will start at Level 2.

Alien Syndrome

Extra Lives:

Open a ? container with exactly 100,000 points to receive an extra life. Repeat for all ? containers on a stage without scoring additional points for additional lives. Best on stage 4.

Alpine Racer

Play as a Penguin:

Hold down the two outside buttons at the 'Press any Button' screen and repeatedly press the middle button until you hear a confirmation sound.

Alpine Racer 2

Unlock Characters:

Unlock Kuma as a Playable Character: Insert your coin, hold 'Select,' and at the 'Skipper Select' screen, hold 'Right' and press the 'View Change' button.

Unlock Oyaji as a Playable Character: Insert your coin, hold 'Select,' and at the 'Skipper Select' screen, hold 'Right' and press the 'View Change' button.

Alpine Surfer

Play as a Penguin:

Press and hold both 'Select' buttons and press the 'View Change' button seven times at the 'Mode Select' screen. If done correctly, you will hear a confirmation sound. Note: Playing as a penguin disqualifies you from high scores.

Aqua Jet

Penguin World:

When the 'Press Start' prompt appears, press it and squeeze the accelerator. Then, at the 'Course Selection' screen, hold the steering column 'Up,' 'Down,' 'Down,' 'Up,' and squeeze the accelerator. If done correctly, you will hear a confirmation sound.

Unlock Kronn Hunter Mode:

In Level 1, ignore the aliens and shoot the policeman three times with your first three bullets.

Unlock '?' (Mr.Karate) as a Playable Character: In 1-Player Story mode, reach '?' (Mr.Karate), intentionally lose the fight, and start a 2-Player game to access '?' on the 'Character Select' screen.

Defeat every opponent in 1-Player mode without losing a round. Your next match after Mr. Big will be against Geese Howard.

Invincibility:

Fly your spaceship to the bottom-right corner of the screen, hiding behind the score board. Staying there will prevent you from getting hit, allowing you to shoot enemies without taking damage.
