Introduction
Greetings! My name is Writer Girlie. I began writing on my couch when I could not walk. Then a situation arose that was pivotal in my life. I became a new woman with a voice of empowerment in me. That means, learning how to speak up for once self after years of bygone hurt.
Suddenly, unexpectedly in the year 2018 a change me occurred. This brought about a new writer and photographer. The change made me very exuberant!
In 2018, I went downtown for a writing conference. Speaking to other author’s gives me the knowledge to learn more about the craft of writing. That day I was inspired by another author too.
I left the conference that day and did a video of an ambulance. Then I stood behind a bush. It rocked my world! Until they told me to leave. I love the behind-the-scenes action of being writer girlie.
Transition is needed here...let’s think...why did I write every night in the fall of 2018???? Divorces change people…this book is about my transformation into a new me. I encourage everyone to look deep down into their heart of all hearts during difficult times of trial. This is why I wrote my book.
I enjoy hiking, photography, swimming, and spending time with my dad, brother’s and friends. Thank you for reading my book. I hope for this book to go Big!!!
This statement was explicitly said that after Thanksgiving in the year 2018. I exclaimed to my family as I left the door-that my book would go big!
Author: Olive Habes
~This book is
dedicated to: my Grandparents, Yia-Yia
and Popou, Father Nicholas Katinas, Aunt Bee,
Mom B., Uncle Tom, Aunt Kathy,
Tami Wasserman, and Gretchen Englehardt.~
Side of Book:
Growing up in a family of five, I raised myself as an independent middle child between my two brother’s James and Narrator. I enjoyed bike rides with my older brother James. Hanging out on his dirt bike too. I was a ‘bit’ of a tom girl at that.
My younger brother is a bit of a philosopher to me. He grew up way too fast! He is my narrator in the book besides me. A great journalist. He always puts me in place. I love both of my brother’s equally the same.
Mom is the best.
I carted my daughter Kristine around to all her swim meets and dance recitals. I loved playing the part of the stage mom.
Dad is an avid skier. He got me on the slopes left and right every single write. I love him very much from the bottom of my heart.
A little bit about me now…
I am an "amazing’ swimmer: taught swimming for 21 years at Adlai E. Stevenson High School P.R.E.P program. Made many friends there and they taught me a lot about life and living. Thanks to my amazing bosses! I threw a few great swim parties for the staff in college at my watering hole by our family pool.
I also was a Swim Coordinator as well at Northwest Community Hospital. Besides, my dedicated work at Northwestern Centegra Fitness Center; I enjoy working out on their machines too.
I grew up in a Chicago-land suburb with many friends at Kildeer Countryside School in Long Grove, IL. An Iowa State University Graduate in Elementary Education…with a minor in Dance. I have a master’s degree in Adult Education from National-Louis University. This is my first addition to this book. A masterpiece in the making to me. I always knew my book would go big!
A little bit bigger than I thought! I am beginning writer with a zest for life!
My Quotes! For my readers to Enjoy
I love putting quotes in my book. One will see them throughout the passages. Leave it to me…a beginner writer in the making!!! Let’s start with Grandma’s favorite quote that resides in my heart forever. "Happiness is love, loving and being loved."
My quotes to follow, Enjoy!
A past gone to a new future awaiting me!
My faith still lies in heavenly God above.
A new me…changed but different.
I am excited to embrace the world awaiting me.
I know that God’s got me, no one else does!
Batter up! Hit it hard! A homerun! Out of the ball park it goes!!!
A cup of coffee for me to enjoy and drink!
Deep breaths! Deep breaths! Deep breaths!
Find the love on the inside and grow outwards, like a sunflower.
Purple is my color of choice, what is yours?
Story Plot:
The beginning of this story begins at Firehouse Depot. Kristine, used to stop up there on her way to work up to the lake. A great story to be told to my peeps old, middle, and young. A story for all. A rich enlightenment of a woman that loves photography and my chocolate. ~ Past Owner of Firehouse Coffee, Tianna.~
~~~~~~~~~~
Dear Writer Girlie,
My best friend started writing a few years ago. Writing is the most important thing in her life. I always encourage her to write about the journey she went through. I used to work for a pain clinic. I taught her to overcome everything in her life. From junior high memories of her trying to figure out how to comprehend a math problem to now.
The pain took her away to a different time and place. One day my best friend started to write. I am very proud of her! She was inspired from being on the couch for very long time. A chip off
the old block her grandma would say.
Writer Girlie loves her brothers very much. The older one his name is, James.
The younger one opposite of him is Bill K. His journalism skills from the University of Missouri fascinate Kristine. They both have taught her many different things on her journey in life every step of the way. This book will bring her readers to a new level of learning and love.
~Klunk!~
To my wonderful daughter. Congratulations on starting out a wonderful writing career! Mom
All these words flowing through my sister’s beautiful mind.
She is the most talented writer that I have ever met. She makes me laugh, cry, and smile throughout my own tribulations in life. I love her Instagram site very much. I can’t wait to see her speak in public with this book. I love you very much big sister! ~Narrator, Young William~
1: Reason for Writing My Book:
I always continue to challenge and heal myself through my writing. During this book, I will show my peeps the struggles in my life overcome by me. A lot I count them on two hands. These struggles led to challenges with my health and healing journey. This turned into Grace
. Thanks to the people that prayed for me to overcome my adversities in the years 2015 to now!
My character: Writer Girlie was transformed in the year 2018 on Facebook. A change in the direction of my life, like a sail going into the wind at my lake caused me to become a writer again. The more I post and write plus do my photography; I am shaped back into the single woman again!
People need to back off and understand the differences in my life. I was gone; now I am alive. I am writing about it today to educate everyone. I was gone like gone with the wind. It is a movie. My Grandma wrote it years ago!
Let’s discuss today a parallel story to me like my grandmother’s story. For humor’s sake I call her, Grandma Bush!
That is my slapstick way of laughing at myself. For if one can’t laugh at themselves then whom can one laugh at all right like all night.
Grandma is an amazing woman that describes me to the fullest. She has overcome a lot in her life just like me too. A mentor, a lover of dance, with an epitome of joy in her heart. The songs in this book directly line up with my writing. Please play them in any language on Utube. They are fun! I really hope that my readers enjoy them too. These songs will make you smile, cry, and bring happiness into your life…left and right every single write.
The lyrics I have chosen today are within me. After hearing this music on my phone. The Circle of Life
is my favorite song from the Lion King Musical. These are called Contemplation Songs.
Youtube.com (Utube) to hear songs of your choice like a golf course! These words and other songs have gotten me through the most difficult times in my life.
My favorite song is all encompassing-it denotes the stages of in my life. Plus, the movements of a symphony: a song of myself. I fell in love with the Disney, Lion King
musical years ago. Utube…it will help my readers understand me too. This song is a little glimpse into the world of, Writer Girlie.
Contemplation Song #1: Circle of Life
From the day we arrive on the planet
And blinking, step into the sun
There’s more to see than can ever be seen
More to do than can ever be done
There’s far too much to take in here
More to find than can be found
But the sun rolling high
Through the sapphire sky
Keeps great and small on the endless round
It’s the circle of life
And it moves us all
Through despair and hope
Through faith and love
‘Tis we find our place
On the path unwinding
In the circle
The circle of life
Song by Elton
Lyrics Walt Disney Music Company
These lyrics resonate within me tonight because I was on the Iowa State University flag line (ISUCVMB’ Marching Band). This is where I raise flags and I move them highly, proudly up in the air. I had the opportunity to choreograph a swing dance flag routine to this song at Iowa State. These were bright, small yellow/red flags with a sash. The crowd was buzzing with chants a glow. It is a great university, with friends to boot!
"The fellow flagline girls were cool. Writer Girlie (meaning me)
