Tak. Tak. Tak.
Alvin's fingers tapped across the keyboard, his eyes fixed on the screen as lines of code scrolled past.
The cyber case he was working on was for a long-time client, and he was currently doing an upgrade to the database. But for the past five hours, he has been running into a lot of hidden bugs. By the time he was done with one, another popped up - it was never-ending. I might lose my marbles at this ra-
Before he could complete his sentence the light suddenly went out, turning back on a second later. No, no, no.... come on!!
Alvin's frustration echoed through his study as he cursed under his breath. He was caught between standing and sitting, his eyes fixed on the screen in disbelief. His ten hours of work, the whole correction, all lost in an instant. His first instinct was to try to retrieve as much as he could.

Her red fur shimmered under the pale light in the study. Faith bounded towards him, her tail wagging furiously, and playfully nudged him with her wet nose. Alvin couldn't help but smile, despite the situation he was currently in. It's OK. I'm fine. Come on, let's go. I guess I'll retire for the night.
He sighed, running a hand
